Lakeba Beach in Sulaa Village, Baubau City, Southeast Sulawesi Regency is the presence of a beach in the west which has a marine ecosystem/seacoast environment, the waters of the Sula village on the coast of Lakeba have a sloping topography and a suitable substrate as a place to live for a diversity of marine animals, one of which is species of marine animals. molluscs, the purpose of this study was to determine the types of mollusks and the morphological classification of molluscs on the lakeba coast, Baubau city.

This type of research is exploratory to collect mollusk species in the intertidal zone with a field observation approach. The location of this research is at Lakeba beach, Baubau City and was carried out from 20 August 2022. The object studied in this study is the identification of mollusc species, The method used is line transect with zigzag method. Analytical technique.

The results showed that the types of molluscs found were molluscs in the gastropod group such as moon eye snail, oliva reticulata, hexaplex trunculus, lola and abalone. Molluscs are one of the macrozoobenthos groups that have soft bodies and mostly secrete calcium carbonate which forms a hard shell of chitin substance that functions in self-protection. (Candri et al., 2020)The ecosystem owned by this type of mollusk has decreased in number, because it is used as a food source by the surrounding community. In addition, Lakeba beach in Baubau City is also a tourist spot and is close to residential areas so as to reduce the amount of mollusk diversity. So this research is important to do.
